Restoring Mind and Body Through the Outdoors

Operation Trail Therapy is an outdoor wellness initiative focused on helping veterans and first responders reconnect with purpose, resilience, and community through time on the trail.

Founded by U.S. Army veteran and photographer Timothy Godfrey, the project highlights how outdoor activities can support mental health, physical fitness, and long-term recovery for those who serve others.

Through storytelling, photography, and community events, Operation Trail Therapy aims to share the powerful impact that outdoor experiences can have on those who have dedicated their lives to service.

Primary Focus: Mountain Biking

Mountain biking is the primary focus of Operation Trail Therapy.

Trail riding offers a unique combination of:

• physical challenge

• mental clarity

• connection with nature

• community support

For many veterans and first responders, time on the trail provides an opportunity to step away from daily stress, rebuild confidence, and reconnect with the outdoors.

The project will focus on documenting and supporting the positive impact of mountain biking through:

• trail rides

• community meetups

• photography storytelling

• partnerships with cycling brands

• outdoor content highlighting recovery through riding

Future Outdoor Activities

While mountain biking is the core focus, Operation Trail Therapy aims to expand into other outdoor activities that promote physical and mental wellness.

Future activities may include:

• hiking

• trail running

• ruck marches

• outdoor fitness events

• community adventure meetups

The goal is to build a supportive outdoor community where veterans and first responders can connect, challenge themselves, and grow together.

Community Impact

Operation Trail Therapy aims to grow into a community-driven initiative that:

• encourages outdoor wellness

• promotes mental resilience

• builds supportive networks

• highlights the stories of those who serve

Through photography, storytelling, and outdoor events, the project will help show how time in nature can support healing and long-term well-being.
